November Newsletter
Dear Owners, dear Neighbours,
Welcome to the November edition of our NEWSLETTER!
I would like to bring back to life Patti´s famous Newsletters, but first of all let me introduce myself. My name is Nicole Kniesel, I´m your neighbour from 712 and will take on the job as President, with Patti as Vice-President by my side.
I will try my best to manage our community!
This past Tuesday, 14th of November, the AGM was held and the Minutes will be sent out by our community administrator Gerardo soon. Please update your email address with Gerardo if needed at: administracion@administraciondefincasronda.com
Speaking of communication, for those of you who would like to get in contact with me, you may do so by WhatsApp-Message at +34 607426705, preferably in the afternoon as I am working during the day.
There is one important issue that I would like to make you aware of. We have received final instructions from the Town Hall and water authority regarding the Junta de Andalucia declaration, to inform that they are imposing restrictions on non-essential water usage. This is, of course, due to the serious and prolonged drought suffered in our area, due to the lack of rainfall.
This unfortunately means that irrigations systems and re-filling and cleaning of swimming pools are now prohibited until the bans are lifted. These restrictions also apply to private gardens and pools within the community as well.
Failure to comply with these requirements the Community / Owner will incur heavy fines and possible closure.
In order to maintain the gardens in the best possible condition under these circumstances, our gardener will now have the more time-consuming task of monitoring and maintaining the gardens manually.
We appreciate your collaboration and understanding and personal involvement in our private environment to save water.
Attached find the official letter and its translation in English.
Kind regard,
Nicole

EDICT
Ana Carmen Mata Rico, Mayoress-President of Mijas Town Council, in use of the powers
conferred on her by law,
HEREBY KNOWS
The Regional Government of Andalusia has declared the entry into a situation of severe and
exceptional drought in the Western Costa del Sol System to which Mijas belongs, indicating
that in this scenario water saving plans will be activated with the aim of achieving at least a
20% reduction in urban supply (BOJA Number 208, of 30 October 2023).
For this reason, Mijas Town Council requests the full cooperation of its citizens, for which
purpose it recommends the adoption of the following measures to restrict the use of drinking
water, as indicated below:
-Prohibition of irrigation of gardens, parks or green areas, public or private, as well as orchards.
-Prohibition of irrigation of golf courses.
-Prohibition of street, pavement or façade washing, public or private, and other urban uses,
except those authorised for sanitary reasons.
-Prohibition of filling or refilling private swimming pools.
-Prohibition of car washing except in authorised establishments with water recycling and
recirculation systems.
-Prohibition of ornamental, recreational or sports fountains and lakes, public or private, unless
they have recirculation systems.
-Prohibition of public showers and fountains.
-It is forbidden to use water from hydrants and hydrants without the express written
authorisation of the supplying entity or the Town Council, except in cases of fire.
-Fountains for human consumption will be used exclusively for this purpose, and any other use
will be restricted.
It is also agreed to disseminate an information campaign to raise awareness of the
responsible use of water to the entire population.
All citizens, as well as those responsible for public and private facilities, are urged to
make responsible, supportive and efficient use of drinking water, checking for possible leaks
and applying other measures to avoid unnecessary water consumption.
The monitoring and evaluation of the measures will be continuous, and more
restrictive measures may be taken depending on the evolution of the drought situation.
This Edict will come into force on the day following its publication on the municipal
notice board and will have an indefinite duration until a new order is issued that annuls it or
the end of the drought situation is declared.

Boletín Noviembre
Estimados propietarios/vecinos,
Nicole
