Dear Owners,
Summer has well and truly arrived which means that Carlos, our gardener, has been working 7am to 3pm since 1st June.
A variety of maintenance jobs have been carried out this month including repair to the lock on the entrance gate of block 3, repair to roof tiles on block 3, replacement of some broken floor tiles in block 9, repairs to a broken sprinkler system pipe between blocks 8 and 9 and the moving of some sprinkler pipes outside block 3 which had been causing damp to one of the garage storerooms. A lock on the toilet door at pool one mysteriously disappeared but has now been replaced. The fountain behind block 3 is now working again after repairs to the timer clock and to the lights. Jorge, from our maintenance company has also checked that all the lights in the community are all working. Work to pool 1 to correct the sand leak began on 27 June and should be completed within a few days.
The painting of block 6 has been completed and block 5 is well underway.
We have had to change gestor as our previous company is closing due to the death of the owner. We have appointed a new company at the same price.
On June 22 our concierge Tomi was admitted to the Carlos Haya hospital in Malaga and, at the time of writing this, is still there. Juan and Cristobal have been fantastic in covering the extra hours and once we have a clearer picture of the situation with Tomi we may well need to take on a temporary replacement for him. We have been unable to do this so far as we were waiting on the official papers signing Tomi off work which we finally received at the end of last week. I spoke to Tomi today and he is in good spirits but desperate to get home and then back to work.
So the ‘silly’ season is upon us and I expect we are in for a long, hot summer. Work in the community carries on as normal but with the addition of everyone complaining about the heat and moving a little slower!
