September report 2020/Informe Septiembre 2020

Dear Owners,

Things quietened down a lot in September and there were no major repairs needed other than to the garage door of block 4.  All the lampposts in the community and drain covers outside the blocks have been painted and the paint company are now working on block 1.

The month did finish with a worrying incident – a young man gained entry to Phase 1 in a car when the concierge was not at the gate. This is obviously easy to do when gates remain open temporarily when someone enters or leaves.  He then waited outside a garage entrance and entered the garage when an owner drove in. He parked up and decided to go to sleep in his car! He was eventually challenged by another owner who reported the matter to the concierge who, up until that point, had no idea he was on the premises. When the concierge spoke to the gentleman it was clear that he had mental health issues. The Police were called and they came and spent some time with the young man who had come from Malaga. Once the Police determined that he was not under the influence of drink or drugs and because he had his dog with him they escorted him from the community rather than arrest him.  Luckily on this occasion the man meant no harm. However it demonstrates, once again, the importance of everyone needing to be vigilant and to report anything unusual or suspicious to the concierge immediately.

Now that our community year has ended on 30th September Gerardo and I will be working to finalise the accounts and prepare everything for the AGM scheduled for Monday 16th November.

Estimados propietarios

Septiembre ha sido un mes más tranquilo y solo ha habido que reparar la puerta del garaje del bloque 4. Se han pintado todas las farolas de la comunidad así como las tapas de alcantarillado fuera de los bloques. Los pintores están trabajando ahora en el bloque 1.

El mes ha terminado con un incidente. Un hombre entró en la comunidad cuando el conserje no estaba en la puerta. Esto es fácil cuando las puertas quedan temporalmente abiertas al entrar o salir alguien. El intruso esperó a que alguien entrara en un garaje y ¡decidió quedarse a dormir! Fue advertido por un propietario que además avisó al conserje. Cuando hablaron con él estuvo claro que tenía algún tipo de desequilibrio mental. Se avisó a la policía y estuvieron hablando con él. Una vez determinado que no estaba bajo la influencia de alcohol o drogas, aparte de llevar su perro con él, decidieron escoltarle fuera en lugar de arrestarle. Afortunadamente no tenía intenciones de hacer daño, pero esto subraya la importancia de que todos estemos vigilantes y avisemos a los conserjes de cualquier cosa sospechosa.

Ya que nuestro año de la comunidad termina el 30 de septiembre, Gerardo y yo trabajaremos juntos en la cuentas para preparar todo para la reunión anual de propietarios fechada el lunes 16 de noviembre.
